UCLA Extension

Financial Aid

Pathway is an approved Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) that allows Pathway students to qualify for Federal Financial Aid via the Pell Grant. Applications can be accessed via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA application deadline for the 2017 – 2018 academic year is August 1, 2017.  For additional information and instructions on completing the financial aid process for Pathway (both new and returning students), please view and download the UCLA Extension Federal Financial Aid Information sheet and the UCLA Extension Federal Financial Aide Guide & Application Packet.

Pathway also has a needs-based scholarship that we administer directly to cover educational aspects of Pathway. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Students who receive a scholarship during their first year in the program can expect to receive a scholarship during the second year of the program, contingent on submitting a new FAFSA that demonstrates continued financial need. To determine eligibility for the Pathway Scholarship, applicants must submit a copy of their Student Aid Report from the FAFSA application and a signed photocopy of your most most recent Federal Income Tax Return. Click here to access a copy of the Pathway Scholarship application form. Priority consideration will be given for completed scholarship applications received by May 15, 2017. The final deadline for Pathway Scholarship applications is July 31, 2017.

Pathway Alumni Network

The mission of the Pathway Alumni Network is to facilitate interaction between current students and Pathway Alumni by encouraging mentorship, communication, and fostering lifelong friendships. It is hoped that the relationships developed through the Alumni Network enhance a student’s experiences by providing resources and opportunities to strengthen and enhance the learning and life skills gained at Pathway.

The Pathway Alumni Network will offer a variety of resources and information for personal, vocational, and educational use, and is at no additional cost for graduates. For more information on the Pathway Alumni Network, please contact Wendy Abarca at (310) 794-1235.
